Lobster Claw Software LLC ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information our upcoming game, Neon Poly Duo ("the App"), and our website at https://neonpoly.com ("the Site") collect, how it is used, and the choices you have. The original Neon Poly game has its own policy, available on the Neon Poly classic site.
The short version
Neon Poly Duo is a multiplayer game, so unlike the original Neon Poly it needs some data to work: an account identifier, the username you choose, and your match history. We do not sell your personal information, we do not ask for more than the game needs, and you can play without giving us your email address.
Information the App collects
- Account information. When you first play, we create an anonymous account with a random identifier. You may optionally link a sign-in method (Sign in with Apple or Google) to protect your progress across devices; if you do, we store the sign-in identifier the provider gives us, such as the email address on that account.
- Profile and gameplay data. The username you choose, your scores, match history and results, friends and opponents, achievements, rank, in-game currency balances, event participation, and similar game progress. Your username and gameplay results are visible to other players you play with (for example on match cards and leaderboards).
- Device and notification data. If you enable push notifications, we store a device push token, your notification preferences, and your timezone offset so alerts arrive at a reasonable local time.
- Purchase records. In-app purchases are charged by the app store you bought them through (such as the Apple App Store or Google Play), and we never see your payment card details. So that we can confirm a purchase is genuine before delivering it, the store's purchase receipt is checked by RevenueCat, which keeps a record of the purchase, your account identifier, and the country you bought from. This is also what lets you restore purchases on a new device.
- Invite and challenge links. If you share a friend invite or challenge link, or open one someone sent you, the link is routed by our link partner Branch (described below), and we record the connection the link was for, such as which player invited you.
- Usage analytics. Aggregated usage information (such as which features are used and how often) that helps us understand how the game is played and improve it.
Service providers we use
The App is built on Google Firebase. Firebase services process data on our behalf, including: Firebase Authentication (sign-in credentials, IP addresses, user agents), Cloud Firestore (the game data described above), Firebase Cloud Messaging and Remote Config (device installation identifiers), and Google Analytics for Firebase (usage statistics). You can read Google's own description of this processing at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
In-app purchases are validated by RevenueCat, which receives your account identifier and the purchase receipt issued by the app store. RevenueCat checks that receipt with Apple or Google so a purchase cannot be faked, keeps a record of what you have bought, and tells the App which items to unlock on any device you sign in to. You can read their privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Friend invite and challenge links are created and routed by Branch. When you share or open one of these links, Branch receives device information such as your device model, operating system, and IP address, and, where you have allowed tracking, your device's advertising identifier. Branch uses this to open the link in the right place and to measure which installs came from a shared link. If you decline the tracking prompt on iOS, this measurement runs at a reduced level. You can read their privacy policy at branch.io/policies/privacy-policy.
Advertising
Neon Poly Duo shows ads, including optional rewarded ads you can watch in exchange for in-game bonuses. Ads are served by Google AdMob and its partner networks, which may collect device identifiers (such as your device's advertising ID), IP address, and ad interaction data to serve and measure ads, and, where permitted and consented, to personalize them. You can learn how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
You can limit ad personalization in your device settings: on iOS through the App Tracking Transparency prompt and Settings > Privacy, and on Android through Settings > Google > Ads (where you can delete or reset your advertising ID). Where required by law, the App will ask for your consent before showing personalized ads.
What the Site collects
https://neonpoly.com is a static website. We do not set advertising cookies and we do not run third-party tracking scripts on it. If you submit our contact form, your name, email address, and message are delivered to us through Formspree (formspree.io) so we can reply. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, pages requested) for security and operations.
How we use information
- To operate the game: matchmaking, saving progress, showing match results to you and your opponents, and delivering notifications you asked for.
- To deliver purchases and rewarded-ad bonuses you earn.
- To keep the game fair, safe, and stable, including detecting cheating and abuse.
- To respond when you contact us.
- To understand aggregate usage so we can improve the game.
How we share information
We share information only with: (1) the service providers named above, who process it on our behalf; (2) other players, limited to your username and gameplay results as part of normal play; and (3) authorities when the law requires it. We do not sell your personal information.
Your choices and rights
- Notifications can be turned off per category in the App's settings or entirely in your device settings.
- Ad personalization can be limited as described in the Advertising section.
- Deletion. You can permanently delete your account and its data from inside the App, under Settings > Account > Delete account. You may also request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, UK, or California), you may have additional rights, including correction and objection; we honor these requests regardless of where you live when we reasonably can.
Children
Neon Poly Duo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Data retention and security
We keep account and gameplay data while your account is active and delete or anonymize it after you ask us to delete your account. Purchase records are held separately and outlive that deletion: the app store keeps its own record of anything you paid for, which is what allows you to restore a purchase later, and RevenueCat keeps its validation record. Ask us via our contact form and we will delete the RevenueCat record too; the app store's record is held by Apple or Google under their own policies and is not ours to remove. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with the providers listed above, primarily in the United States. If you play from outside the United States, your information will be processed in the United States.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the game evolves, including before launch while features are still changing. Material changes will be reflected by an updated date at the top of this page, and, when the change is significant, an in-app notice.
